Audrey, Wait! Is Robin Benway's first novel.Breaking up with your boyfriend is hard, but wouldn't it be even harder if he wrote a famous song about what a jerk you were? That has happened to Audrey!
Barnes and Noble:
California high school student Audrey Cuttler dumps self-involved Evan, the lead singer of a little bad called The Do-Gooders. Evan writes, "Audrey, Wait!," a break-up song that's so good it rockets up the billboard charts. And Audrey is suddenly famous!
Now rabid fans are invading her school. People is running articles about her arm-warmers. The lead singer of the Lolitas wants her as his muse. (And the Internet is documenting her every move!) Audrey can't hang out with her best friend or get with her new crush without being mobbed by fans and paparazzi.
Take a wild ride with Audrey as she makes headlines, has outrageous amounts of fun, confronts her ex on MTV, and gets the chance to show the world who she really is.
My review!!! Audrey is just an ordinary girl when she breaks up with her musician boyfriend Evan. Later that night, he has an amazing song written about her, about how she dumped him! When she has rabid fans, is misquoted to look like a slut in magazines, and is caught on camera with a guy moving in on her! When her best friend organizes a reality show, and her new boyfriend James and her are followed on their date, she knows she has to do something. But what good will trash-talking on MTV do?
I loved this book! 4/5 for originality. I probably gave it a four of five on account of my friend was writing a similar story called The Girl In The Song when this came out.
I say this is 14-15+. I usually don't say things like this, but this book said the f-word over 80 times. Also, it describes Simon Lolita feeling up Audrey, and discusses Audrey's sexual relations to Evan. There is also drinking in this one. Sorry, 12-13 year old readers. I'm gonna have to say no.
